Our targets
To help us achieve our strategic objectives and meet our public service agreement commitments, we have set priorities for each strategic objective for the next three years.
Protect our border and our national interests
We will:
- guard our routes to the United Kingdom with early action overseas;
- detect and stop risks and threats to the United Kingdom at our border;
- speed the passage of legitimate goods and authorised people;
- count people in and our of the United Kingdom so we can take action against those who overstay.
Tackle border tax fraud, smuggling and immigration crime
We will:
- hold those who break our laws to account for their actions; targeting facilitators, businesses, colleges and organisations;
- create and manage immigration and customs anti-smuggling crime partnerships in the United Kingdom and overseas;
- detect, detain and remove those who have no right to be here, or who pose a threat to the United Kingdom, targeting the most harmful first;
- transform collection, dissemination and use of intelligence globally and locally;
- issue identity cards to foreign nationals and help deny the privileges of the United Kingdom to those who break the rules;
- transform our enforcement capability.
Implement fast and fair decisions
We will:
- welcome the people and trade which benefit our country;
- implement fair and fast decisions that are right for the United Kingdom;
- help refugees and newcomers who have earned the right to stay make the United Kingdom their home;
- develop and manage international alliances to support delivery of our business.
In order to meet our objectives, we will strengthen our organisation capability for delivery:
- we will set the highest standards for openness and accountability;
- we will deliver our agenda by working closely with partners;
- we will be a proud Agency that gets the best from its people and is well led at all levels;
- we will focus our resources on our priorities by cutting red tape and streamlining our systems and processes;
- we will manage our key risks well.
