European Refugee Fund Phase II - multi annual programme 2005 - 2007

This is a list of the projects funded under the European Refugee Fund (ERF).

Trans-national projects

CAP Research & Consultancy Ltd: Public Finance Accreditation Pogramme
London, West Midlands and the North West, Antwerp and Brussels

A trans-national project which will develop an accredited qualification in managing public finances for refugee community organisations. The project will then deliver training towards this qualification to refugee community organisations, in Belgium and the United Kingdom.

Community Integration Partnership: Women Achieving
West Midlands and France

The Women Achieving project will provide advice and community support, addressing the needs of refugee women and their children by building self-confidence, the teaching of English for speakers of other languages (ESOL) for work, work experience and the placement of women into full time employment.

United Kingdom projects

CAP Research & Consulting Ltd: One Vision
Northern Ireland (Belfast), Wales (Cardiff), South West (Bristol or Exeter), North West (Manchester) and East Midlands (Leicester):

The One Vision project will provide assistance to refugees on community support and mentoring plus bring together and combine existing host and refugee organisations into one whole community. The service will benefit all refugees in the delivery area.

East West Trust: Building Bridges
Birmingham

The project will train and empower 50 committed local people, knowledgeable about their local area, from all faiths, to become whole community leaders and multi-faith champions. Together with inter-faith/cultural group forums, the champions will discuss faith with participants (individual and group) and the role they play in United Kingdom society, leading to better understanding of other faiths.

Housing Associations Charitable Trust (hact): Refugee Housing Integration Programme
Across the United Kingdom

hact will work with local authorities, housing providers and refugees, offering support, advice or legal services, community support, health and welfare benefits. Its client base will be unaccompanied minors and refugee children, young people, women and families.

Marchbid Ltd: Filling the Skills Gap in Scotland - connecting refugees into jobs
Scotland and England

Marchbid will work with existing and new refugees to encourage refugees with skills to move to Scotland to fill skills gaps and to identify locations outside Glasgow where there are skilled vacancies that could be filled by refugees. By the project's third year, it aims to extend its work within another European Union (EU) country.

Refugee Action: National Refugee Awareness Project
Across the United Kingdom

The project will raise awareness and encourage positive images of refugees and asylum seekers through training and support to volunteers and others who can carry out practical measures to welcome refugees and promote integration. It also aims to reduce harassment towards refugees, who can become more active in local communities and more involved in voluntary work and community groups.

Un Ltd: The Foundation for Social Entrepreneurs - Integration Awards Scheme
Across the United Kingdom

Un Ltd aims to assist refugees in setting up their own support projects to deliver services by providing advice, action learning and cash grants on fund-raising, one to one coaching etc. The project's client base includes all refugees except children under 16.

Yorkshire & Humberside Consortium: Refugee Women - Access to Employment in Yorkshire & Humberside
Leeds, Yorkshire & Humberside

The project aims to increase work opportunities for refugee women in the fields of health, housing, social welfare and education, through supported and certified work placements, work mentoring and relevant training.
