Hadfield Cawkwell Davidson Ltd was established in 1834 and is one of the United Kingdom's largest firms of architects, interior designers and structural engineers. Based in Sheffield, it currently employs more than 100 highly skilled staff, including migrant workers from countries such as China, Malaysia and the European Union's accession countries.
The company saw a clear benefit in applying for a sponsorship licence under the new points-based system. It was one of the first companies to apply for a Tier 2 licence, and one of the first sponsors to be awarded an A-rating.
'The process of registering as a licensed sponsor of Tier 2 general migrants was very straightforward,' says senior associate Trevor Winslow. 'The online application system is clear and logical, with comprehensive guidance notes. We were kept advised of the progress of our application and supporting documents were returned promptly.'
