West Berkshire District Council was keen to access the sponsorship management system on the first day that Tiers 2 and 5 of the points-based system went live, to make sure that the system of users was established in good time.
Lucy Semmens was the first level 1 user to access the system for the council. 'When I accessed the sponsorship management system, I found it easy to understand and navigate,' she says. 'I used the system to set up new users, and I was able to refer to our internal database to find all of the information required.'
The council expects to nominate approximately seven level 1 and 2 users, to ensure effective management of their recruited migrants.
'We found the e-learning CD very useful, and will be using this internally to train other users on how to successfully access and manage the sponsorship management system,' says Lucy.
