How do I sponsor a migrant?

An interview panel

Cost of a confirmation of acceptance for studies

This page explains the fee you must pay when you issue a confirmation of acceptance for studies under tier 4 of the points-based system. We are not accepting fees for confirmation of acceptance for studies until we start accepting applications from migrants under tier 4.

Find the tier 4 implementation plan which explains the phased delivery of tier 4.

Each confirmation of acceptance for studies will cost £10.

You will pay for a confirmation of acceptance for studies even if the migrant does not use it. This is because you will need to issue a confirmation of acceptance for studies to the migrant before they can apply to enter or remain in the United Kingdom.

As far as possible, you should therefore make sure that the student is likely to apply and pass the points-based assessment, so you do not waste a confirmation of acceptance for studies on an unsuccessful applicant. See the section on Assessing migrants points for more information on checking whether a migrant will pass the points-based assessment.
