Introducing compulsory identity cards for foreign nationals


Compulsory identity cards for foreign nationals are replacing the old system of stickers and other insecure United Kingdom immigration status documents, which may be subject to fraud. Each card contains a chip which holds a digitised photograph and fingerprints, alongside biographical information.
