The immigration directorate instructions are internal guidance used by staff when handling applications.

Section 3 (fiancé(e)s and proposed civil partners), section 4 (victims of domestic violence), Section 5 (adopted children) and Section 5b (children coming for adoption) has now been replaced by modernised guidance.
