New immigration fees from 6 April

03 April 2009

Following Parliamentary approval, the new immigration fees announced on 12 February 2009 will be introduced from Monday 6 April 2009 for all those applying to visit, work in or stay in the United Kingdom.

Fees for studying in the United Kingdom under the new tier 4 of the points-based system came into force on 31 March 2009.

The new fees are set out in the table that you can find on the right side of this page.

Please note that the fees listed in the table for "Nationality 6(1) Single", "Nationality 6(1) Joint" and "Nationality Registration Adult/Single Minors" do not include the citizenship ceremony fee of £80 per person. This fee should be added to the fee listed in the table if you are applying in these categories. You can find the correct overall fees for these applications - which are also known as "applications for British citizenship" - in our Citizenship fees leaflet.

Also on Monday 6 April 2009, we are revising a number of our application forms. If you are submitting an application on or after 6 April, please:

  • visit the relevant section of this website to check that you have the right form; and
  • make sure that you send us payment at the new fee level for your type of application.
