This page explains whether you can bring your dependants with you when you come to the United Kingdom under the youth mobility scheme within Tier 5 of the points-based system. The information is based on our statements of intent published on 6 May 2008. The information in this section will be updated as we continue to develop the policy over the next few months.
If you come to the United Kingdom under the youth mobility scheme you are not entitled to bring any dependants with you. If you have a spouse or partner who wishes to accompany you to the United Kingdom they will need to make a separate application for entry clearance. This application can be made under any immigration category; they do not need to apply under the youth mobility scheme. You cannot participate in the youth mobility scheme if you have dependant children.
